Sleepon’s tagline says it all: “Better Sleep, better life.”
In the US alone, 50-70 million people suffer from sleep disorders with all the health consequences involved. Yet, interestingly 80-90% of adults with impaired sleep breathing remain undiagnosed.
The most obvious consequences of sleep deprivation are obvious: being tired during the day, making errors of judgments with sometimes dramatic consequences. However, the body pays a high toll when chronically sleep-deprived.
The effects of the lack of sleep on health include increased risk of hypertension, diabetes, obesity, depression, heart attack, and stroke.
Sleepon mission is to provide user-friendly devices to monitor sleep quality to improve the quality of life. We already put their sleep ring to the test and liked it. This article will dig deeper into the company background, products, and if they really can positively impact overall health.
A company built out of a personal drama
Claus, the co-founder & CTO of Sleepon, was not new to developing wearable devices. With his team, as early as 2007, they developed the first heart rate monitoring device. But, unfortunately, Claus was a hard-working engineer, taking little care about this sleeping habits. Then, in 2015, Claus suffered a heart attack.
When taking a polysomnogram, he was shocked by the number of wires needed. Hard to sleep when being hooked up to dozens of electrodes. The $1000 price tag for such an exam was another epiphany moment. There must be another way to analyze sleep. So Claus went back home and started designing devices that will change the way.
After meeting David Chand, a computer engineer with a marketing background, Sleepon was born. Initially founded in China, then registered in 2017 in the United States, Sleepon was created to answer real needs and bring sleep analysis to the next level.
In just a couple of years, the company launched several innovative sleep monitoring products now available in more than 40 countries—quite an achievement. Their goal is to help the 80% of people who do not know they suffer from sleep disorders and reduced the 16 billion dollars lost yearly directly related to sleep disorders.
The company offers several sleep trackers and solutions to track sleep cycles and even reduce snoring: Go2sleep, Go2sleep SE and Go2Silence.
Go2sleep
Go2Sleep is not your standard ring. However, it is a real sleep powerhouse that includes most of the data needed to monitor sleep accurately. The underlying principle is simple, wear it as a ring with the sensor part inside the palm. This way, the ring will not risk getting stuck into the bedsheet or pillows.
More than a blood oxygen tracker, Go2Sleep make the most of the sensors and companion app to provide a complete analysis of the way people sleep and checking numerous physiological parameters.
The Go2Sleep is undoubtedly one of the most advanced sleeping rings on the market. No doubt that we ranked it as one of the best sleep tracking rings currently available.
When most smartwatches or fitness trackers only provide an overall sleep score, the Go2Sleep goes far beyond measuring the heart rate. It provides information on:
- AHI (Apnea Hypopnea Index): This index refers to the number of pause in breathing (apneas or hypopnea) people experience per hour while sleeping. AHI is calculated using the amount of oxygen in the blood. A sudden drop being correlated with a sleep apnea. Sleep apneas should be considered seriously as they have been correlated with an increase in Type 2 diabetes, heart attackes and even strokes. An high AHI is a key indication that a consultation with a sleep doctor is needed and that additional behavioral or medical helps are needed.
- Blood Oxygen Saturation levels: The levels are tracked continuously which help in understanding how you breath or sometimes stop breathing wile being asleep.
- HRV: The Heart Rate Variability refers to the variation of the time between 2 consecutives heartbeats. HRV is getting more and more interest these days and is a key indicator of how healthy and relaxed people are. A low HRV can be a sign of chronic stress, over exercise or other underlying conditions. Being able to record HRV is part of the holistic nature of sleep.
We also appreciate that the Go2Sleep ring data can be exported to a computer for easy sharing with your physician. Made of food-grade silicone, the ring is hypo-allergic, waterproof, and can be charged using the provided magnetic charger.
Overall the Go2Sleep has everything we could ask from a sleeping ring. The companion app is packed with data and is compatible with iOS and Android devices. With a reasonable price point, the Go2Sleep is Sleepon’s flagship product. With so many to offer, no doubt that we ranked it as one of the best sleeping rings currently available on the market.

Go2sleep SE
The Go2Sleep SE relies on the same technical principles as the Go2Sleep. But, somehow, it comes with a twist. When worn on the fingertip, it gives access to more capillaries than on the finger pulp. As a consequence, sleeping data are more stable and accurate.
The fingertip holder is made of food-grade silicone for convenience and comfort. For those willing to combine the comfort of use and accuracy, the Go2Sleep SE is an interesting add-on.

Go2silence
Go2Silence is truly an innovative way to reduce snoring. The 2.3 inches ball clips to the back of the pajama T-shirt or provided chest strap and acts as an active device. The Go2Silence relies on Positional Therapy. The idea behind the device is to use customizable vibration to move sleepers off their back and favor side sleeping, reducing snoring.
The smart ball will detect the position continuously and vibrate when lying on the back is detected. In more than 30 studies, Sleepon validated the efficacy of the device in reducing snoring. It may look like a weird device, but it actually works, and users reported that the Go2Silence was more comfortable to wear than they initially thought.
The two parts are strongly held together using a magnet grade of N48, and the device automatically switches on once the magnet is clipped to the ball.
More than a pure positional therapy device, the Go2Silence is also smart. Its sensor detects sleeping positions and sleep cycles. The sleep position data are stored and synchronized with the companion app.
